A Place for the Mind

Richard Heinsohn

Heinsohn received his B.F.A. in painting and drawing from The University of Georgia in Athens. There, he focused on abstract painting and has built his career around this style in addition to wall reliefs and hybrids of painting and photography. He has been known for creating thick textures and applying bold colors onto burlap.

Heinsohn focuses on a range of themes, including sociocultural issues and cataclysm; however, color, texture, and ambiguity of form come together to visually connect these themes. He aims to allow the viewer's imagination to flow and expand through the affect of experiential creation.
