Modfellows Art & Design Gallery is a 2000 sq ft space once owned by Nashville manager Dale Morris, used to house gold records and tour buses for some of country music’s biggest acts. Modfellows in located near the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere. The gallery will show many types of art including paintings, photography, sculptures, ceramics and glass.  Owners, Rich & Julie Modica have both had long careers outside of the art world, Rich in music and Julie in marketing.  Rich has traveled the world as a tour/production manager for artists Dwight Yoakam, Morrissey, Jakob Dylan, Brian Setzer to name a few.  But, both share a passion for art, design, vintage & collectibles - including mid century furniture, art, ceramics and glass.  They’ve have spent many years collecting and educating themselves on art/artists, designers & makers.

On a recent road trip, to drop their son at Camp Woodward (for skateboarding) in Western Pennsylvania, the Modica’s made a stop at the Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, PA. Long-time fans, they saw all of the collection’s Warhol amassed mixed with his art in all mediums, film, drawings, paintings, silkscreens and they were completely inspired to make a career change and work on a gallery.  The gallery is to present art that excites, moves, inspires. They believe art needs to make you feel something, a reaction, love it or hate it, you need to feel it. It shouldn’t be something you buy to just to match your sofa or the color palette of your home.

Modfellows Art & Design Gallery will have it’s Grand Opening Saturday, July 20th, 2019 with a solo show of artist Nathaniel Covington’s Creature Feature, Monster Art show titled “Coaxial Shock”.
